1855 Paintings Paris

Good afternoon,

I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Carolyn VanderMeulen and I live in Ontario, Canada.

I am writing to you today regarding paintings that have been in our families possession and inherited from my grandmother (1976). I remember as a small child admiring these paintings hanging in my grandmothers house.

My youngest sister, Kathi Royle and myself have been doing some investigating attempting to find information on the artist, as well as its value. There isn't a visible signature that I can see however, one of the paintings does have a stamp stating it received an honourable mention. The other painting does not bear a stamp but it is in the same style.

It would be wonderful to solve this mystery. I removed it very carefully, photographed, measured, then put it back in its frame.

Would it be possible to find out information about the history of the painting(s)? I do not have a backstory on them nor paperwork. I believe the stamp would provide it's authenticity.

I will gladly provide the photos upon request to solve this mystery.

I have two paintings, one is stamped with an honourable mention and made in france stamp. I will send however realize many paintings were not photographed or logged.

I am curious to who the artist may be or possibly the style would indicate what master they studied under.

Its a big ask and I appreciate your kindness in assisting to solve this mystery.
