The sound of the sea, in a pavilion presenting the two faces of India

A four-metre-high conch shell welcomes you. Made of fibreglass, it reproduces the hoarse noise you hear when you hold one of these shells up to your ear. While you listen to the murmurs of the sea, you can contemplate landscapes in three-dimensional images projected on the walls. These are the two faces of India: one, ancestral, linked to mythology (the pavilion's façade reproduces scenes from a traditional fable) and the other, modern, capable of producing cutting-edge technology and placing satellites in orbit. Goa, a former Portuguese colony, is present in the pavilion through the approach of its beaches and architecture.
